This year, CAPCA hosted its 50th Annual Conference & Agri-Expo South at the Disneyland Hotel, an event that brought together industry leaders, including TriCal Inc. & TriCal Diagnostics, to network and stay informed about the latest advancements in agriculture. For more information, visit their website at www.capca.com.

What is CAPCA and Why is it Important?

The California Association of Pest Control Advisers (CAPCA) is a cornerstone organization in the agriculture industry, dedicated to supporting Pest Control Advisers (PCAs) in their professional growth and expertise. CAPCA provides essential resources, education, advocacy, and networking for PCAs, ensuring their professional growth and recognition by the DPR while leading advancements in pest management.

Why Are PCAs Essential to Agriculture?

Pest Control Advisers (PCAs) are licensed professionals who act as trusted consultants for California’s agricultural and horticultural producers. While their primary focus is pest management, PCAs also provide expertise in a wide range of plant health issues, ensuring crops remain healthy and productive. Their contributions are vital to the sustainability of California’s agriculture industry.

PCAs are licensed by the State of California to perform the following activities:

1. Provide written pest management recommendations.

2. Serve as authorities on agricultural pest control practices.

3. Solicit sales of products or services for agricultural use. PCAs offer a diverse range of services, from maintaining highway vegetation and managing weeds in public waterways to ensuring pest-free greenhouses and landscapes. They are essential to supporting the growth of healthy, abundant crops across California’s 9.9 million acres of farmland and public lands.
